Project carried out in mid 2020, one month of continuous operation for which personnel (7 people) and equipment were mobilized from Colombia. The objective of the project was to transport 4 Wartsila engines and manually position them at the plant. However, given the conditions of the road infrastructure, transportation was carried out from the storage port by sea to an alternate port on the beach (design, calculations and engineering executed), and road transportation from there to the plant.
Transportes Montejo was in charge of loading at the port of origin, roll-on operation to the barge for river transport, roll-off at the beach and land transport (approximately 4 km to destination) where the engines were unloaded with the assistance of special Gantry equipment. The final positioning of each engine was done manually, using a Skidding system.
Main difficulties: design and securing of port on beach.
Dimensions: Length 8.63meters Width 3.28 meters Height 4.49 meters Weight 84 tons.
Equipment used: 10 Cometto modular lines, Gantry system, Skidding system.
